Finally, I’m sharing my husband’s official recipe for our homemade margaritas! It’s literally been a year in the making and he’s tweaked it a dozen times. Once you try them yourself, you’ll agree it was worth the wait. He bought me a Margaritaville Blender for Mother’s Day last year, (smack dab in the middle of quarantine… don’t ask), and I’ve certainly enjoyed being his taste-tester! Lol.

You only need a few, traditional ingredients, but his measurements are spot on! Be sure to follow them carefully to get the perfect ratio of all the flavors a good margarita has to offer!

I mocktail and a cocktail all in one! All you need are 3-4 ingredients, plus whatever you want to use on your skewer to dress it up! Ideally I would’ve liked to have had some gummy eyeballs to add, but since Halloween is only days away, most of the candy shelves were empty. There’s always next year…

Honestly, this punch could be made for almost any holiday using other color sherbet and changing out a few things on the skewer! Imagine how cute strawberry sherbet and gummy hearts would be for V-Day!

Anyway, let’s get to the recipe. Lime sherbet, ginger ale and green food coloring is all you need for the punch. For the skewer I used gummy worms, Swedish Fish, and sour tape. It all came together in minutes and was so easy!

This weekend I’ll let the kids make their own skewer and and have a little fun with it. I know they’ll think it’s delish too!

For a bright green punch, add 5 drops of green food coloring (on top of sherbet, before adding ginger ale), and for an adult cocktail, add 1-2 shots of lime vodka to your glass.

I’m including decor, treats and other fun things. Before we dive in, let me just say that all things Valentine can get tacky quick! Maybe it’s just me, but pink and red hearts are hard to blend with any home decor. My suggestion is, if you love V-Day, go big or go home! Do it all the way mama!

In the South, we start the Mardi Gras season after Epiphany so Valentine’s Day often gets a little lost among the king cakes and craw fish boils, however, at our house, we love to celebrate the day of love with our 3 kids (Clark 8, Penelope 4, Daisy 1). They absolutely adore the idea of any “candy holiday”, plus we use it as a chance to talk with them about God’s love and St. Valentine’s incredible life and legacy. We use this video to help with that!

There are literally hundreds of thousands of over-the-top V-Day ideas out there, but I chose things I would actually do and not just admire from my Pinterest board!
